Nairobi National Park is a protected area located in the southern outskirts of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. It is the only national park in the world located within a capital city, and covers an area of 117 square kilometers.
Despite its proximity to the city, Nairobi National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and over 400 species of birds. The park is particularly famous for its black rhinoceros population, which is one of the few remaining in the world.
Nairobi National Park offers several activities for visitors, including game drives, bird watching, nature walks, and guided tours. There are also several picnic sites located within the park, as well as a few lodges and campsites for those who wish to stay overnight.
In addition to its natural attractions, Nairobi National Park is also of cultural significance, as it is located in the traditional homeland of the Maasai people. Visitors can learn about Maasai culture and traditions through guided tours and cultural experiences. The park also houses the Nairobi Animal Orphanage, a rehabilitation center for orphaned and injured animals.
